Earth's survival hangs in the balance, with countries like the UK in the bottom 10% of the global Biodiversity Intactness Index. Legislation is beginning to gather pace to address the need for nature recovery, but how do you track the progress of this? How do we cover and quantify change on a global scale? Chris's talk will give an overview of the history, challenges, and future approaches of ecological mapping and consider how maps and spatial datasets such as Map Impact’s BiodiversityView can support with the pressing need to reverse the effects of ongoing human pressures on our environment.
